trading my street bike for a Raptor
#1
hello everybody thx in advance for your help.
Well as you already know im thinking about trading my bike in for a raptor, most likely a straight up trade. the bike is a 2002 honda CBR 600F4i and the raptor as far as i can tell is stock 2002 blue/white. now for the catch.
the CBR has been laid down, very lightly but none-the-less laid down. it will more than likely need new plastic and thats pretty much it besides like a new peg and some other MINOR things.
the guy who owns the raptor also owns a custom car shop and my family knows the guy.
i think that trading him straight up would be a good deal considering how much i got the bike for (bought it wrecked) and the raptor looks pretty clean and in good condition from what i saw. he said he was trying to get rid of the raptor for 4,000 which i didnt think was a good price but its his 4 wheeler. also he races motorcycles so he said he wanted a new project bike.
so i guess question number 1 is what do you guys think about trading him???
secondly, i currently own a 2001 recon which is good for doing things like riding through local, small trails and hauling deer out of the woods but ive clearly outgrown it and im ready for something a little more sporty and definitely something with more power and speed. im 19, i weigh about 155lbs, and im about 5'8. i mostly like trail riding and ill probably end up riding at family farms and places like Turkey bay, Coal Creek and other systems in the south, but i would LOVE to make a trip out to the dunes sometime. i know i can handle it and even if i dont like it being that big which i dont know why i wouldnt i could always trade it for something.
so i guess the second question is do you guys think this would be a wise trade considering the type of riding i do? thank you for the advice

Well. How much were you planning on getting rid of your bike for? 3 4k ? personally I would do the trade its not the 01 so no tranny problems. Its an 02.. you say its a stock raptor . stock 02 raptors are going for around 4 k. id say 1/3 of them have work done to them but you can buy a power package from majic racing for under 600 that includs full pipe jet kit and air filter kit. Which helps your bikes self esteem.. NOw granted the raptor wont have near the power of the cbr600 you will still love the power and it seems like it will fit you perfect for the type of riding you will be doing. Besides.. Ur chances of diein on teh raptor are alot less then on the cbr600 and we want you around for a while.
