problems with prairie 650
#1
I have an '02 prairie the things runs great till the motor gets warm. Then in low gear and high manly low gear though it has a snapping noise to it. It almost sounds like a chain snapping. I was wondering if there was some sort of drive chain in it. I have look on the parts diagram but didn't see one and was wondering if maybe i am missing it somewhere. I have adjusted the shifting linkage and that didn't work.
I wondering if anybody has any advice or similar problem.
It might be time to get rid of it and get the "Brute Force".

Mine makes a lot of trashy noise in 4X4 mode. There's a lot of loud clunking, but it's usually limited to when the machine is coasting, or going downhill. I did a search and found lots of other Prairie owners report the same thing.

Mine seems to do it more in 4X4 mode also, but dosen't so it when coasting. It only does it under alot of stress and when the motor is warm. Its been doing it now for about 6 months i would think that if it was in the tranny it would have gone by now.
