FYI: If its not caused by a bad 4wd actuator, it might be a bad controller. I'm having problems with 2wd/4wd engagement right now and so far my "stealer" has replaced the KEBC actuator and now is replacing the controller to see if that fixes the problem. This is getting very expensive!

OlemanMoses,
Its funny you mentioned that b/c on Sunday I noticed that my P650 would not go into 4wd (2wd/4wd was flashing on display). The WIERD THING was that I could pull in the front diff lock lever and ALL 4 WHEELS would engage. It did this regardless if I had the 2wd button depressed or the 4wd button depressed (2wd/4wd was flashing all the time). So that meant I had either 2wd OR 4wd with the locker pulled in (but I did not have normal 4wd mode or what I call "3 wheel drive"). Obviously having 4wd with the locker engaged was WAY TOO HARD TO STEER and not appropriate for a long XC race.
My point is that I was racing on Sunday in 2wd only (not by choice) and I drove thru some VERY SOFT/THICK SAND which had me and everyone else around me spinning wheels like crazy. So I reached over and pulled in the front diff lock lever and it gave me 4wd with the diff lock engaged and I was able to get awesome traction and pass my competitor (on a Polaris Scramberl 500 HO 4x4). The trouble is that when I let off the front diff lever it made a horrible clunking sound from the front diff area. So I never did it again during my race or since then. Like I said in my post above, I'm now waiting on a new controller to arrive at my "stealer" and I hope that fixes my 2wd/4wd problems. NOW I JUST HOPE I DIDN'T SCREW UP MY FRONT DIFF BY PULLING IN THE LEVER DURING MY RACE!

I think my "stealer" charged me approx. $370 for the KEBC actuator and $340 for the controller (this controls both the KEBC actuator and the 2wd/4wd engagement actuator). Not sure how much the 2wd/4wd engagment actuator costs. I'm sure you can get a much better price at other places like ronayers.

Speaking of your local "Stealer" I ordered 6 bolts to replace the ones that fell off of my P700 and it cost thirteen cents short of $30.
I love my Prairie but I am giving a serious look to the KQ and maybe even a grizzly.
