Prairie clutch conversion???
#1
I know a guy that is planning to trade in his P700 for a BF or KQ. He said if it wasnt a big deal we could swap out the clutches before he takes it in. Is this the 30 minute job im thinking it is or is it more involved than just swapping primaries?? I have an 02 and I know they made changes later to a better setup.

I've got 2 thoughts here... good for you, bad for the Prairie commuminty... yes, & quick pull of the primary & you've got a better clutch ( they are nearly identical, except for the inner sheeve )... but someone down the road is going to be frosted, when they do a spring change, or need service, & find out that clutch is not the correct one... I am OK with it, if the owner tells the shop that ( for what ever reason ) that the primary was replaced, & they used a good 650 clutch as the replacement...

Now you've stuck me with a moral dilemma. Would you do it?? would anyone else do it? Would the average owner ever know or care? My clutch isnt bad or defective, just not upgraded. Now look what you did!! Pulling on my heart strings.

You wont gain enough from the swap. Think that some single mother could have saved for months to get this wheeler for her 16 year old son and well you know the rest of the story.
Is it worth it? that is a question only you can answer.

LOL, well if thats the case I would be doing her a big favor by giving her the slower clutch. I wouldnt want the boy she cherishs so much getting hurt with that mean old nasty improved clutch.
