What to do to start racing?
#1
I am 14 years old and have been riding my 2001 Polaris 325 TrailBoss since I bought it new. I want to start racing but would I be able to race this? Does anybody know where any tracks are around Las Vegas? Do most tracks require racing leathers and all the pads and stuff? Because I only have gloves and a full-face helmet.

You won't be racing mx with that thing. You might try some cross country in a utility class, but not sure how competitive it will be. There are usually local associations that have smaller quad series and a lot of times, a helmet and numbers on the front and rear bumpes are all that are required. Best thing to do is to contact some local quad shops and talk to them about local associations and quad series.

probably an exhaust, you could get anywhere from a 5 to 10 horse power gain, that might help a little if your just doing cross country, the next thing might be a new suspension especially if your going over some rough terrain. Then get a better skid plate.

Don't take this the wrong way but the trail boss is not a good race quad. I would not put alot of money into this. I had one years ago it was fun to ride on the trails but again not a race quad.
There are other brands out there that handle better, don't weigh as much and so on. But being 14 and your only ride then have fun and practice your riding skills.

I have basicly toped out at my skills thats why I want to go faster. I can beat my all of my friends in short track races, and X-country, my friends have a Magnum500,Magnum 425, TrailBlazer250, and my other friend has some weird off brand 250.I love my quad and wouldn't trade it for anything. But, back to my question, Would the suspension be softer or firmer for X-country?
