Default Specs on a 04-05 Raptor 350's

Hey whats up, great forum.

I recently got 2 350 raptors, they are our first bikes. These things are badass. I do plan on doing all of the maintence on them. I am very fimilar with turning wrenches and like doing my own work to get to know the machine. Is there a online service manual available for them yet? I have searched around and found some specs and a couple of great how-too's to check the valves. But I'm not sure if they are for the 660 or the 350 and I found a couple of different ones that make it more confusing. The common one was .005" intake & .007" exhaust is that correct for the 350 raptors. And you have any more information for a newbi....I'm all ears. Thanks

Herb

As a rule, 99% of what you find will be for a 660. The specs you listed are for a 660. raptortranny.com and the instructions on that site are for the 660. If you want engine information, look for warrior info. The engine is the same, some of the exterior mounts and parts have changed, but its essentially the same bike.

Well I did some looking around as suggested and found the Warrior specs for valve clearance.

Intake:
0.06 ~ 0.10mm
0.00236 ~ 0.00394in

Exhaust:
0.16 ~ 0.20mm
0.00630 ~ 0.00787in

If someone wants to comfirm or add any additional information I'm sure it will greatly help others like me.

I would recommend buying the Yamaha service manual for them. You can get it directly from Yamaha for $60 or watch for one on ebay. The torque specs and diagrams make them worth their weight in gold. I have one for every bike on our place.

Forget the factory service manual. Clymer has all the same information and more with colored wiring diagrams for about half the price.

I have yet to see a service manual for the 04 - 05 Raptor 350's. Although I have not checked Yamaha's site. I do know that Clymer does not list one. And I rather be very pick and have one for the 04 & 05 Raptor 350's then the older Warrior even if they are the same.
