Default 350X TO CR500 CONVERSION

some guy gave me a 88 cr500 bike the engine loooks good but he wrecked and the bike is totaled i was thinking of sawpping the cr500 motor in my 350x. i was wondering if its possible. and if i should do it to the 350x. i dont really want to do it because the bike is all original and i dont want to screw it up so what should i do. should i or should i not. or just buy a 85-86 atc250r and do that?

Don't bother. It's going to involve a lot of fabrication.

It would only be worth it if you had a 350X roller that was in OK condition. Even then, lot's o work involved.

I would get a 250r trike w/o engine or a junk one and put the 500 in that. I have seen that conversion done many times and I've seen them beat 500cc bikes. They are killer if you can get them hooked up right. Good luck, and dont mess with that beautiful 350x.

The point? The point is to have an excellent machine with loads of power and still have a mostly original 350x you can ride everyday and on trails. Not to mention that they are getting to be rare. Just because it has been done before does not mean that its an excellent idea, nor does it mean that the results are any less satisfying.

Just because it has been done, does not mean it is common by any means. I have only seen three or four, and only two of them on a regular basis. One at the local sand drag track and another at a riding spot up north.

I agree with wanting something unique. I hate having what everyone else does.

Yea but its mentioned alot, i like extremely wierd stuff like, lets see, A quad with a 440 snomobile engine a a motarcycle tranny. Or a CB750 bike engine on a snowmobile. thats the kinda stuff i like but thats my opinion.
