you need a modified carburetor in order to run alcohol. Usually it needs a larger floatbowl and the jets drilled out due to how much fuel flows through it. You also sometimes have a power jet installed that way you only change the power jets to adjust the jetting. I have a Keihn 38mm PJ set up for alcohol. Larger welded float bowl. Power jet installed. It's never been used. Paid $275 with the mods. I'd be willing to sell it. Let me know if you are interested and i'll give you a price.

You'll need a carb and high compression, and a couple pistons...read up on alcohol! I have been running it for 2 years now and had a tough time getting used to the variations for temperature and humidity. It really works when your get it right.
Here's what I found out...to save out the headache. I bought a 38mm (over to 39mm) Mikuni from FTZ racing. I use a 121 main and 5 turns out on the booster jet on a highly modified 250R for the summer....119 for high humidity (6 turns on booster). It ran lean while ice racing the bike last winter on the 121 and 6 turns. This year, I'm shooting for the 123 with 6 turns on the booster. Good luck...check your plug regularly for readings and aways run gas through your motor when you're done for the weekend...Alcohol will corrode and rust your motor when it sits.

What does it take to run alcohol in a 4-stroke engine? I will be running a supercharger on race gas, but would like to also run alcohol so I can run the boost above 14 psi. I bought a 42mm Mikuni HSR42 flatside carb w/accelerator pump. Is it just a matter of figuring out the jetting when you change to alcohol or is there more to it than this? Is it best to let the pros set it up for me? Do you know of some websites where I can read up on this subject?
