Default Honda Rubi vs. Kawasaki Brute Force - what to buy?

HELP! Hi, we are looking at purchasing a new ATV and would use it for hunting, hauling, and general utility work. We are leaning towards Honda Rubicon, not Rincon, but are not yet sure. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks

i owned a rubicon also.no complaints it can play and work very well.plus that tranny is smooth and quiet and maintenence free.if i could say one thing i would change on that bike it would be switchable into 2 wheel drive option.the brute force has alot more power when compared to the rubicon.but what the honda has in return is alot better handling.my opinion is the rubicon will handle anything you put in front of it including work chores.i used mine alot for pulling ,hauling and chores.i didnt once have a complaint on its power.if you need extreme power ,IRS and the full locker(which is real nice) then go with the brute.otherwise the honda is fine .either choice im sure you wont be sorry.

rubicon does'nt have a belt.
it also has a five speed tranny with five gears in hi and low.
but the BF is probly way more fun.
untill you get stranded with a wet belt.
the choice is yours.

Thank you! We are making a final decision on Tuesday and you have certainly made the decision much easier. As long as the ATV is able to drag the massive buck that my husband has assured me that he will get this season, he will be very happy with the ATV.....

Not really, the rubicon is a lot more utilitarian than the bf, and more durable/reliable. It has a great deal of low end power and is one of the best work atvs made. It really depends on the type of riding you are going to do, as to which would be better for you.

Look, you're comparing apples and oranges big time here. The Rubicon will be your best bet for straight utility work, reliability and will match the Brute on hunting. However, if you're looking to do any kind of fast-paced riding or REALLY technical riding, I would choose the Brute. However, I believe that if you're going to get a Rubicon, you should not get a 2005 as they are outrageously priced. You should wait and take a look at the Suzuki KingQuad 700 in my opinion. Sporty IRS, EFI, lockable 4x4, a VERY strong powerplant to match and............less, yes, LESS money than the 2005 Rubicon, which is crazy on Honda's part. So for strict utility, get a Rubi. For any quicker trailriding or extreme mudding (although the Rubicon can mud VERY well), get the Brute Force or even better IN MY OPINION, the KingQuad.
