Well what do you think it is either time to buy a new bike or put a curtis sparks 440 motor and a curtis sparks x6 pipe , The thing i am worried about is that a 440 will not be relilable and that it will take too much $$$$$ to get my bike to where the 450 will start. All opinions welcome thanks in advance.

the 450's are nice. the 440's seem to hold up pretty good.

If you are a trail rider, stick with the EX! If you ride more open country, or faster more open trails, the R would be a good choice.

Off topic but how do you like living in Oregon? My wife and I are thinking of relocating there in a few years. I've heard that Oregonian's arent' super big on outsiders. Is that true? I've been up that way a few times and find it to be a beautiful state. We'd like to live on or close to the coast, yet in the trees.

Any Suggestions/feedback would be great.....

A 440 properly built will hold it's own against alot of R's. However, with a simple bump in compression, an aggressive cam and pipe and the R will destroy most 440's.

I have a 440 and a 450r. I have put 2 grand into the engine and carb on the 440 and it can't even get close to my 450. I say get a 450 even for the woods. If you ride tight trails you wouldn't have the 400, you would have a 4x4. What I mean by that is, I can ride the same trails in north west Washington on either quad.
