no just thin to get the lube thru the engine for top end, too thick of oil will have a hard time getting pumped throughout the engine durinng Hi rpm.sJMO...

You can also put in top end lube if your a dragger, I like lucas top end lube...

A lot of people run Amsoil......there is also another brand they run too........I just run stuff from Polaris, like you and your yamalube....I think that if they make it to go in there, then I better use it......and I don't know where to get the other stuff, other than online.......

Valvoline just came out with a 4 stroke synthetic atv oil that's made for wet clutches. I tried that stuff out and I don't think I'll ever go back. That stuff takes twice as long to break down, is cheaper, and gives an excellent feel for shifting. The stuff is 10 40 so it works great for top end riding.

I use Maxum4 syn-blend 10W-40 and havent had a problem, that is probably more a result of very frequent oil changes.

Great article on oil:

My personal preference is Honda HP4, synthetic/petrolium blend (with moly for the 450R or without for everything else). If I were to run a full synth, I think it would be Maxima Ultra.

Amsoil 0w-40 four stroke synthetic. Made for ATV's, great protection for your engine in both hot and cold temperatures, also great protection on start up. No friction modifiers, safe for use with wet clutch systems.
