Assuming you are looking to get another Honda - I think most dealers will try to charge list price for a 2005. Dealers around me are now offering some pretty good deals on 2004's.

I'm planning to buy a new Rubicon in the near future, so I've been looking into this a lot. I've found two dealers in Tennessee that seem to consistantly offer great deals. Abernathy's and Southern Honda. I'm willing to make a trip to Tennessee to save a grand.

I would ask around your area to see if there are any dealers like these in NY.

Good luck.

I think it depends on what bike you plan on purchasing and the area you ride in. If, your trying to buy the new hot off the line, quadthen I'd think you'd expect to pay, what they are asking My Yamaha dealer wouldn't even budge off his price on the new Raptor 350 or Grizzly 125
I know when we bought our new quad, we paid otd $300 less then the asking price. And, I looked at dealers up to 50 miles away.

Well, I checked Abernathy's (they are a Yamaha dealer too), they are selling the 05 Kodiak 450 for $5449 -list is $6199. The 04 Raptor 660r is $4899 - list is $6199. It's unlikely you'll get them both for 8g.

As far as deciding beween the 660r and the 400ex... I would say they are two entirely different machines intended for different applications. That's a whole new thread.

I HAVE PURCHASED TWO ATV'S IN THE LAST TWO MONTHS NEW FROM THE DEALER..THE BEST I COULD GET ON THE 05 SPRORTRAX 250 WAS 200 BUCKS OFF MSRP..THEY DONT CARE IF YOU BUY OR NOT..I WENT BACK THREE WEEKS LATER AND BOUGHT A NEW 04 FOREMANS 4X4 FROM THE SAME DEALER. I BOUGHT IT FOR 5500 WHICH I BELIEVE IS ONLY ABOUT 275 OR SO OFF LIST..UNFORTUNATELY THEY ARE NOT LIKE AUTOMOBILES WHERE YOU CAN WHEEL AND DEAL..I DID NOTICE ON SOME OF THE ANSWERS YOU HAVE GOTTEN OF SOME GREAT DEALS IN TENNESSEE..IF YOU DIDNT WANT TO TRAVEL THERE, YOU MAY CHECK ON HAVING ONE SHIPPED TO YOU FROM A DEALER WITH A GOOD DEAL! YOU STILL MAY SAVE. GOOD LUCK

dealer mark-up is 15%. Do the math on your atv. Hope this helps.

P.S. keep in mind the dealer has to pay electric bills too.
