what kind of riding you doin.?if you need to go sideways around every corner.and need to jump real high go for the z400.if you want to go muddin rock climbing and exploring.go for the foreman if you want a little of both.go for a prairie 700 or the new suzuki 700 4x4 (if you can find one)these 4x4,s are very fast and more sporty .you can wheelie and jump with these too.my opinion is its nice to have a utility because you have 2 wheel Or 4wheel drive option.they ride softer and more comfortable plus you can use them for towing,plowing.etc.utilities are way more versatile than a sport quad.a sport quad is for fast fun only.plus youll like 4wheel drive after you get stuck in 2 wheel drive a few times.i think 4 wd is mandatory.good luck

Ya, it all depends on what type of riding you do. If its more open trails, fields, dunes, mx, drag, or smoother trails then the z-400.. If you want to mud and go over mean terrain at a slower pace then get the foreman, if You want a mix quad (sporty, fast, 4x4, etc)get a scrambler 500.

Look, the best mahcine for you is the one you feel comfortable on, and ride the heck out of. Comfort goes way beyond the seat too... you have to feel comfortable with the dealer you buy it from too, as you will eventually need parts or repairs. You have to feel that the machine can handle the type of trails you intend to ride on too. Just about every machine out there today is a decent machine, designed to provide good service if you maintain it properly. I have several machines, both sport models and Utes... and frankly, there are few places that I can't go on my sport model. IF I do find a spot that I can't handle it with 2 wheel drive, I probably should not be there in the first place... I admit though, that I spend most of my time on teh Ute these days, as it just feels better under my tired butt... that is a personal preference.. not driven by any lacking of ability by the machines.
