ok im 14 and hav a 400ex, i ride at my grandparent's every weekend, thers a broblem thow, to got to aney of the good riding spots u have to go on the road for like 2 minits. the law is to go on trails or for that matter the side of the road u have to have some one infrontof u with an licens[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img] unfortunitly i don't no aney one. this place isn't a big time city place (country hasen't changet since 1880lol. just the same the cops hav changed, if they c an a.t.v they will probobly pull it over. if and when i get pulled over whut do u think will happen?

 

I don't know about the laws where you are, but I know in PA if you get caught they suspend your driver's licence for up to a year, and if you don't have a licsence yet they will make you wait longer to get it. I think there is a fine involved too, but I know of a way around it. If you can find a way to make it look like you are doing farm work, like hauling a bale of straw or a spayer, and you put an orange safety triangle on your quad you can get away with it.

 

around here they give you a warning and say next time they will impound the quad...

 

Seems to me like there is no problem. You live in a small city which means that everyone knows everyone right? No cop is going to take your four wheeler away. I ride the roads on my 400 EX and the cops usually just wave. If the do stop and want to talk to you just do like I have and take them for a ride off-road. My quad can do 70MPH off-road while there car can do maybe 35 tops before bottoming out and causing damage. The key is to always have a plan. The farm trick also works as a buddy of mine found out but it sure isn't as fun as being chased by the cops.

 

here in Indiana you can ride on the road for a little bit if it's off to the side or on it if no other way for a reasonable distance till you reach your trails
