Pro Circuit T4 - "It says QUIET on it" - WTF
#1
Ok,
This is my first post here, I have been lurking a while and with the information I received here, I properly modded the airbox, re-jetted and added an exhaust for my friends Warrior 350. I also went up one tooth on the drive sprocket.
Everything is sweet the bike is a beast. This guy gets the front end up in 4th.
The only thing is, the exhaust is booming, it's not even funny. I bought the Pro Circuit T4 Four Stroke "Silencer." When I took it out of the box it even said quiet on it. There's even a little symbol on the pipe!
I also noticed, in a letter sent to me with the pipe that there are accessories you can buy for it as well.
My question is, am I losing my mind. If the pipe is labeled as a silencer, why is it ripping at 102Db?
and does anyone have a quik link to an accessory page to get a silencer in it? Is it possible to do this? There is no way we can continue to ride with the pipe that loud.
Maybe that 12 year old guy who wanted the loud exhaust a while back wants to swap with me.
Seriously though any advice you guys can spare on this would be a great help. I don't think its possible I can return this pipe. I don't even want to, I just want to tone it down a bit.

So I just spoke with Customer service at Pro Circuit. This guy told me they can take about 5Db off with a Quiet tip.
Maybe I'm going insane. Maybe it really wasn't so loud. I think I need to put in more testing. I think my buddy was running it WOT and that might have made it sound so loud.
Anyone have any experience with the T4?
Thanks

Welcome to the forums Squalls!!
I know this is a Yamma room and I ride a Kawi, but I have the PC T4's and really like them. Yeah, I'll agree they took a little getting used to at the beginning because they seemed loud, but compared to many other pipes out there, they are actually pretty tame in sound and have a higher quality fit and finish from what I've seen.. Now that I've had them for a few months, the sound is more like ear candy than an annoyance. I think the reason they have that little "quiet" symbol on the pipe is because they can be made quiet with a quiet core insert. Good luck......

Don't get me wrong, I like the sound. But I just know people are going to be bitching like crazy when he rides it. We took it out to an office park at 8PM last night and we lit the whole place up. I could see the people working late huddling near the windows trying to figure it out.
This guy rides WOT from the start, I think that's why he's ripping the wheelies in 4th. I know I can't do it. Also, we were on pavement and I think he was yanking on the handlebars to get the front up.
As soon as I put the pipe on and started the bike, my father-in-law says, "He's not riding that **** on my property!" I just know my father is going to say the same, and that's a total of 230 acres off limits.
