Default Pure Polaris exhaust

Put the Pure Polaris (White Bros) exhaust on my 05 700 EFI. Only problem is that even though the pipe fits the '05, the redesign of the plastic, racks, storage and lights, puts the plastic right light close to the output of the exhaust.

So, off to speed shop tomorrow and pick up some heat shield tape to put on the plastic and bottom of light housing....not really the way I like things, but then again most cycle, atv, automobile manufacturers use it all over the place anyways....

yeah, thats why I'm putting heat shield on everything. The only part that I think will be a problem will be the plastic, the light housing is far enough away. I can move the exhaust down slightly by putting in some blocks, but then it won't be level, well it will look level, but putting pressure on the exhaust pipe...

How much above stock is the slip-on in your opinion? Where did you pick it up at and how proud of it were they?
I have been looking for a exhaust upgrade, but I won't quite over performance. I was told that the MBRP is only 3% loder than stock but haven't heard it.

Here is where I got it....this will expire in a day, but i believe they have many:

It is definitely louder than stock, can't say how much, but you get that '4-stroke' sound from your machine after putting it on.

The exhaust is not 'above stock', it mounts in the same holes is slightly lighter, but the exhaust comes out the end cap all the way around, instead of the little tube that comes down out of the stock exhaust. So, with the exhaust exiting in all directions, it also exits up some and on the '05 it has different plastic and new lights on each side, so the plastic is around 1 inch away, meaning it will probably melt if you are running slow or idling for awhile. I believe the heat shield should help on the '05s.

I'll be the tester. If you are running a machine built before '05, i think you will be better off.

I'll take some pics tonight and post them and show you what I mean.

Elkbow, Can you feel any power difference? I know it is sometimes difficult to judge because the louder noise gives one the impression of more power.

To tell you truth, I haven't even ridden it yet, I installed the exhaust last night while it was sitting on the trailer. You're right, the exhaust sound does give an impression of having more power. I think I'll be able to tell on the low end and I speed tested on the high end with my GPS, so I just need to put the stock tires/wheels back on to see if it made a difference. It will be interesting, I ordered the uni-filter, waiting for it to come in also. Mainly because they are easy to clean and breathe better.

Will let you know, still have to get those 27" tire/wheel combinations I have balanced, hopefully this afternoon since I took off of work.

Elkbow & Others, If you click on my pic's. you'll see a rear view shot of my E series White Brothers. It's closer to the fender where it exhausts than it appears. It sounds like yours is even closer. Anyway, I trippled up with the heat tape inside the side panel beside the pipe. At the exhaust end, I did not put any on, and just waited to see signs of heat - never saw any. It's allot louder than the stocker. I put it on the same time I added the rest of the RCR Stage One Kit so I can't say how much diff. the exhaust made alone. I think the exhaust isn't as hot in one place at the exhaust because it exhausts all around the disks as opposed to one small hole like the stocker does.

Why don't you buy the E-series deflector? This bolts to the end and deflects the exhaust from your plastic. It's $20 at Rocky Mountain.
