400ex grab bar for wheeling
#2
???
the grabbar is part of the whole rear subframe on a 400ex
you can cut it and re attach it so it will break off if hit hard instead of bending the whole frame if thats what your talking about

nah they put a plate of somesort on the end of the grab bar its like maybe 6-7 inches long and like 2-3 inches wide and its only like 1/8 of an inch thick and i think you weld it on

I think it is first off, dumb looking, and second bad for the subframe.
Dragging the back end is garunteed to cause some stress to the frame, which would in turn weaken/crack it. maybe not instant results, but give it time.

i've talked to the CVboyz, most of them jus use the stock set up, i think one of them welded a plate on, and a couple others jus laid a bead across the bar. one thing i've wondered about 400ex grab bars and never figured it out when i owned a 400ex: how is it that company's sell aftermarket grab bars? what standard do they have to go by as far as mounting points are concerned? do people jus cut off the stock one, and fabricate new mounts after they buy the aftermarket one?

There's quite a few names for them from grab bars to 12 bars (12 o'clock), etc. Anyone with some skill with a welder can get one fabbed up.

Yeah dude, just run a few beads of weld acrossed the part of your grab bar that hits.....it will take quite a while for it to wear down, and when it does, add some more weld. I've only done this once so far, and after 3 years it's almost time to do it again.
People do have methods of cutting the stock bar off and fabricating another one on there, but the stocker works fine for me.
