FIRST REAL RIDE ON 400EX, NOW HOW DO I FIX IT?
Hey,
actually went on a very very long ride last night on my 400ex. Took alot of roads, about a four hour trip of roads/trails. it was so fun[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] funnest part was when some guy claimed we were riding in his yard , ( but myf riends house is behind his) and so he called the cops, so when we got on the country road going to my other friends house, on the way back we had to run. haha, very fun. anyways BACK TO THE POINT.
Question 1: I feel like i loosen my chain where it's suppose to be, but when you give it a snap to the throttle, it sounds like it's really popping the chain, like it's to loose, but how tight can i really go?
Question 2: How much air pressure is best to run in the tires, on stock tires?
Question 3: My friend's 400ex has red glow lights. Looks cool, anyone tried it? There red lights, it glows just his chassis, i think it looks
awsome, any suggestions on that kind of stuff?
Question 4: When im riding, i hear a clanking noise from somwhere by the chain, just a constant clank clank clank clank, only when
i don't have the throttle engaged.
Question 5: Is the cluth supposed to click when i put it into gear?

1- about an inch or so of play, dont you have your owners manual?
2- 3.6-4.6psi
3- no
4- check and make sure nothing is stuck in there. maybe adjusting the chain to the right slack would help.
5- clutch clicking? maybe your hearing the trans click into gear, which is normal. the clutch may make a little click sound when you pull it in, but when it's engaged and your puting it into gear the clutch doesnt make any noise.

probally never to be quite honest, it's a 2000, and i just got it a couple weeks ago. It doesn't look like it has ever been replaced. Anyone know how much it cost's to replace all that? does it help?

If you want this bike to last then you really need to get an owners manual and start taking care of it. Just because it is a Honda does not mean you can ride hard and put away wet.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif[/img]
