465EX VS 250R

Who thinks the 400EX/465EX would walk over the 250R?
Who thinks the 250R would walk over the 465EX?
A fully modified 250 at the line with a 465 what would win the race with the same rider or with equal riding ability? The 250R is a legand for its time and then some what will the 465ex do to its Honda Brother walk or get walked? My quad is fast but how much more power does the 465 kit give? The weight will be increased and some what slow the machine down. Who knows? Happy Riding!!!

465 ex ?????? What motor are you talking about the maximun a 300ex motor can be resleved is 405cc . If you have a 350x motor thats a different story. You can have that punched out to a 465cc from TC racing. estimate is $800 for the parts and labor.....

465EX that would be a bored and punched 400ex. note the suffix EX.
I am pretty sure the 465 will walk the 250R.
there are alot of people comparing a 440ex to there Modified R's 310's etc. So if you step up
to a 465 kit that is going to create some incredible power. with it geared right You should
have awesome power through every range low mid and high. On any smaller supercross style tracks its going to just walk away with the win. And the larger Mx tracks maybe a good battle. Remember it all depends on the rider!!!
But simply put a 465 EX would be a ferocious Machine that would walk a heck of a lot of 250R's or even 310R's I know I am going to hook up with one.

well if you are thinking a stock R should keep up with a 465ex that is not going to happen. Try putting at least a 330r up to it and then i think the R would a chance to win but you did not ask that i think the 465ex would kill the 250r. Or how about the 425 kit for the R but then you do not want a ticking time bomb.

This an estimate for a Sparks Racing 465 National Kit. This is the same motor design that was developed for Derek "Big Finn" Gereke. This kit is ideal for anyone who demands a motor built with all out horsepower and reliability as the primary goals. After spending a weekend of lining the 465 National kit up against all that Pismo Beach's competition had to offer, we found out that Curtis had built an awesome 400EX. The 465 was able to put a big hurt on all of the other 400EXs. The 465 was able to outrun one of our 265 National motors. It went toe to toe with one of our 330R motors. This motor kit is not for everyone. It has been developed for someone who wants the ultimate in performance for the 400EX. This kit is a collection of components that really work well with the 400EX motor. Sparks Racing delivers Championship performance and Quality workmanship to you. Hmmm. I don't know if a 465EX would walk over a 250R. How much power do you estimate the 465EX puts out? I have friend (who is also a pro) and raced a CT250R Power Valve in The Best In The Desert 2000 mile race and won. I've also heard that the 250R Power Valve puts out 55+ HP. I just don't know. What I do know is that its a whole lot cheaper to bump a 250R up to 50 HP than a 400EX.

In the Honda forum, there is a post that links to a dyno website.(see the 250R's rule thread) They have several dyno runs of 250R's and other machines. Bottom line is that you can build a 250R to make very close to 50 ponies with just bolt-ons, (pipe, carb, Ram Valve, and maybe a little porting).
It may not be the fastest thing on wheels, but talk about the best bang for your buck. Even if it only makes about 45 ponies, you are talking about one fast, ridable, reliable machine.
