Default 2nd battery

im thinking of adding a second battery to my scrammy. has any one done this?

Most seem to want to lose the one they got![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] LOL Any particular reason why?

i guess im differnt then most brother.lol I wanted more power on hand for my winch , you see wen i use my winch to move something like a trailer,or engin stand , (i have a very bad back so i do this alot) my quad idles so it doesnt charge the battery enough,also my starter seems slugish wen its cold,i dont know why. i had it rebilt,and i also replaced the battry. it just seems to have no power most of the time.what do you think?

Ahh. I see now. Well, you can add another battery. You would probably have to make a mount for it somewhere. You also might want to consider having your stator rewound for more output to charge the battery faster.

i was just thinking , how would you test the stator to see if its pushing the power it should???

Maybe consider adding just a bigger gel battery?

To test the stator output, you need to use a multimeter set on DC volts. Touch the red lead to the positive terminal on the battery and the black lead to the negative lead of the terminal. This is your open circuit battery voltage. It should be 12.4V or more. Now start the machine and raise the engine RPM to 3000-4000 RPM. You should have between 13 and 14.5V DC

oh so its the same as the alternator in a car,makes cents. LOL some times im so dumb[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-blush.gif[/img]

that may be just the ticket, ill look in to that. it would probably be easyer

i just tested my stator , its not workin at all . i got a grand total of 7.4 volts !!!!! ive never been so exited about something being broken before ! [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img]
