I am looking to put a set of ITP black C series wheels with either 27" ITP mudlites or Kenda bearclaws and have heard the rears will fit fine but the fronts will rub unless lifting the front of the quad up using spring lifting spacers. has anyone done this and what kit/spacers did you use. forum memver Moosehunter gave me a site called Bertsquadworks.com and they have a nice set of aluminum spring spacers for $60. I am curious to see if anyone else has done this or any other mod to accomodate the larger tires.

where is the cheapest place to get the black ITP C series type 4 wheels and either the 27" mudlites or the kenda bearclaws.

 

I believe on the 2004 or earlier 700s that you can go to 26" without modification. I have an '05 with two sets of 27" tires/wheels....both 589 and Mudlite ITPs, both on type 5C wheels and they fit easily, but not so on '04 and before.

I think the front is the problem, you may have a clearance problem on width, I don't think that they height is so much the problem...not sure, will have to get info from someone that have done.

My dealer has an 05 with 10 inch wide tires up front and they are rubbing ( I think the tie rod end). And that is sitting on the showroom floor

Hi Silver tried to answer your PM but couldn't. Anyway I have a 2003 700 With C-series and 27 mudlites. Back is fine but had to put 1" spacers on front to eliminate tire being wedged against tie rod end. Also the tires rub on fenders during hard turns and bumps. I added the Polaris rubber spacers in the springs but still does rub. Possibly with the 9" wide would not have the tie rod issue. I know progressive makes an adjustable preload spring setup for the front also. They sure make it look better though. In general I run the rawhide stockers unless going out specificly for mudding. Talked to Berts once they seemed quite knowledgable and helpful. If had to do over think would have went with 26/9/12 fronts.

thank you for the info guys, I got intouch with my buddy brandon who works for discount tire. he got me a price for 27-10-12 and 27-12-12 ITP mudlites mounted on C series type 6 wheels mounted and balanced for $570. I know that is a hell of a deal but my real concern is still with the tire clearance, should I go with 27-9-12 tires on the front which also happen to be priced slightly less than the 27-10-12's.

 

yes, go with the 27-9x12s on the front....

 

would go with the 9's cause the 1" alu spacers run 90$ or so for a set and unless something has changed alot in front will be needing them.
