Default Yz250 2stroke or 4stroke?

Thinking about adding a dirtbike to my rides. but should i get a 4stroke or 2stroke 250? never ridin' anything other than a 125cc. it will be for trail riding, jumps, and a lil screwin' around. any info's good.

Sounds like you would be better off with a 4 stroke for what you will be using it for. Good luck!

id say go with the YZ250, you could use it for everything, and itll have a nice snappy feel in the trails

Yea i definitely recommend the yz250f which is a four stroke. It is an extremely nice bike. Good for trails and motocross.

the four stroke would be similar in power to a 125, perhaps a little more umph. The 250 2 stroke will be a beast compared to your old 125.

What he said, they're different classes. Two strokes = about twice their displacment equivilant in a fourstroke. A little 125 two stroke is equal to about a 250 fourstroke, the 250 is equal to about a 500 fourstroke. From what ive heard though, the YZ250 probably would be more scarey than fun unless your fairly experienced.

in "racing" why having more weights to carry out and less hp at peak,
the choice is obvious for anyone that can take care of a 2 smoke.

How much maintenance are you planning to keep on your quad. Personally i would get 4-stroke even though 2-strokes are more fun to ride. 4-stroke will turn those corners in trails much easier!!!!! 2-strokes are harder to maintain. hmmm...

It really depends, the 4-strokes put out a little more power, but they are high maintnance. The 250 2-strokes believe it or not are a lot less maintnance if taken care of than a 4-stroke motocross bike. It depends, if buying used, definately go with the 2-stroke, if new probably the 4.
