Water Proofing
#1
Question is on the Honda 04 Foreman 450s the auxiliary starter is a rope pull start. The rubber handle on the rope pull is very similiar to one on a traditional lawn mower. MY question is should i seal around the handle with silicone if I will be in mud or water over the height of the pull cord. It is not made where it will seal other than just the amount of recoil pressure the rope has to pull the handle to the case. If water does enter here, does it end up in the engine or just drain out the bottom somewhere?

there's a hole in the bottom for the water to drain out, but if you get mud in there it can plug the hole up, and water can eventually work it's way into your motor and mess stuff up. I think it would be a good idea to seal it up with something, even electrical tape would work good for it.
