Hey guys........well a guy around here just got a new "crate" quad.......and all of the talk is going around that he is going to spank me. So tell me how it is. He has a cannondale(I think moto) 440.........and I have a predator with the mods below(also planning on a clamp on filter, new carb out of 450r, and a high comp piston--wiesco)......so after those mods and the ones below, how do we come out?? I hate loosing, so I hope I'm already ahead, but if not, I guess there is always money..........

 

i know dirtwheels isnt very "true" but they did a shoot out between these 2 back in '03......if u go to dirtwheels' site and search predator or something like that it should come up....... if i remember they were pretty close.

 

If it is a moto it will be somewhat close, but you should still be able to beat him. A stock moto is similar to a stock raptor/pred, so your modded machine should do fine.

I'm pretty sure he'd take you on the track though.

Maddog......he might take me on the track, don't know that for sure though.....I have a lot of weight lost, and about 800 bucks in suspension.

 

Just get out there and race him Brad. Bench racing does nothing for real world results. When I raced a c-dale 440 I was dead even w/ him, but at the time I was box stock. They are sweet quads, they just require too much maintance for me.

Let us know what happens, but w/ your mods you "should" beat him.

 

Oh, and the cannibal was the base model cannondale. I do think that the cannibal had the least aggressive mapping of all of them.

 

Thanks Bryan.........hopefully it isn't as fast as I thought it was. I haven't even seen it yet, just when we all go to the dunes(once a year trip) we all like to bring the best....and hopefully be the top dog(fastest in our group)........Unless this beats me, I should be the fastest quad in our group. I don't like to "bench race", just wondering where I stand so I know how much money I need to dump in her before we leave. My racing skills are above his too, so that should help too. Anyways, thanks guys.

 

Moto comes with long travel piggy back very adjustable ohlins, which trump most elka suspensions in my book.

But the cannibal has a less agressive mapping and much different suspension and dimensions. Basically the low boy on the totem pole. Should not have a problem beating him unless it has the moto map.

 

Ok thanks guys.......wow......I didn't realize those things had that nice of suspension. How much does one of these cost?? Another question I have for you guys(I don't know anything about these quads).....but is his quad a 2 stroke? Anyways, thanks a lot......
