Hey guys, just got my 2004 prarie and I am very impressed. Just wondering since I bought it used and all. The actuator on the right side of the quad is very noisy. Is that normal? I just put my 27" GY mud runners on, should I do anything to my clutch springs(primary or secondary) before long?

 

Yeah, they're noisy. You'll hear it cycle as soon as you turn the key on. It's when you don't hear it anymore that you probably have a problem.

 

I have a 700 prairie and mine makes alot of noise after i get in really deep water and really deep mud and ride it real hard in those conditions. Is there anything i can grease down to get it to quieten down.
It sounds like it is confused and squeals?

 

Yeah, you can remove the little black cylinder shaped (metal) cover on both the KEBC and 2wd/4wd actuator (there is a little electric motor underneath) and clean it out real good and then put it back together. If its leaking, you might want to use a little silicone on the edges of this cover to seal it when you put it back together so as to keep the mud/water out of it in the future.

hey turbo josh, i noticed you have the black spring. Was it hard to install and does it help restore power from stand still with the 27" tires?

I like the black spring i installed it in about 40mins. It wheelies alot easier and it is kinda snappy off the line. I could wheelie from a stand still to about 40 mph and it would come down before the black spring.

When i installed it i can wheelie to about 30 or 35 from a standstill. It is a lot of fun now.

You can't go wrong installing the black spring.
