U4 Race Gas
#4
ANNIHILATER,
You are correct, but I worked it out with the race gas experts from U4 and they say its all good. Not one ping - just like the experts said.
Eaglecollector,
I've been running it for about a month and its about a 3-5 HP gain on my 440. NO KIDDING! I also found that the Edlebrock carb with the re-machined thumb throttle still doesnt give enough throw for the carb - I just ordered the twist set up specifically desgined for the DE Edlebrock carb. I cant wait to get that! I used to run 110 standard race gas.
Its spendy though - about $65.00 for a 5 gallon tin.

On a 440ex I have specificaly tested U-4 (straight) oil temp check- opposed to 114 blend (which came out to about 112) and the 440 ex oil temp rised 35-40 degrees by running pure u-4. But did gain a little throttle response and about 1 mph on the hill if that, But it did get there just a little bit quiker. I put my blend of 112 in the same bike same day and the oil temp dropped the 35-40 degrees. The test was done on shaneB's 440ex. Some motors might real take well to this fuel though. And I know the "experts at VP" say that it can satisfy higher comp but I wouldnt push it too far.

U4 is good stuff. Heard you had to drain the tank before you garage the bike because of the smell.
Another new "Super Moto racing fuel" is called MR9. My neighbor is running it and said he is paying around $900 for a 33gallon drum.
But he said its fasssst. I still need to get out and watch them race.

I haven't had to drain it from the tank, but it does stink - even when completely sealed in the tin. I probably would drain it out of my carb if I left it for more than a month. I've left it for more than 2 weeks in my carb with no problems.
