Default sp.500 engangement/accel???

When I first start out on my 2004.5 sp. 500h.o you have to give it some gas to get started.

THe other day I came up my drive way and stopped to see how much guts it had and I gunned it. Well it went but the engine just reved it didn't really excellerate. When i let off the gas a little it went a little better. It felt like the belt sliped. Anyone know or is this normal? Does this happen to you?? Otherwise great machine I have been very happy with it. 180 miles are on it.

Thanks alot for your help,

maybe that was it. The engine was a little cold. It was only running for like 2min. Probably wasnt the best thing to do. BUt i did not like the noise that I heard. That loud rev and not moving. Would the heelcliker cluch make and diff.

It may be because its cold, but has to be pretty cold...the belt doesn't grab as good when cold....as far as putting in a heelclicker or other clutch, it all depends how you set them up....you can make it so it grabs harder and have to give it more gas to get going, or can get it to grab earlier, depends on the type of riding you do....if you are slow climbing, etc., you will want it to grab quickly,,,,if you ride more agressive you will want it to grab later....

you should be fine, if you feel you need a clutch setup later, thats an option....i'm looking for something on my '05 700 EFI....when I run at high altitude in the snow, the belt is slipping some and I'm afraid I'm going to smoke a belt....last weekend it was cold as crap and whiteout, snowing....I would hate to have to change a belt in that weather since my fingers froze after taking off my gloves to snap some photo's
