Polaris Predator
#1
I would like to know about the Polaris Predator. I don't know anyone who has one. I would like ot know about them and how they compare to the other quads out there.
1. How is their handling?
2. How is their suspension?
3. How is their power?
4. Do they wheelie easily?
5. Are they good in the trails?
6. Can they climb fairly steep hills?
7. What is their STOCK top speed?
8. Can you easily find aftermarket parts for them (filters, pipes, nerf bars, bumpers, etc., etc.,)?
9. Do they at all compare to a 400EX and/or a Raptor?
10. How is their reliability.
Sorry for asking so many questions...I don't mean to be annoying, but I would appreciate it if I could get some answers. Thanks a lot.

Try doing a seach on 'Predator', that will give you tons of information in this forum.
The Predator was also selected as ATV of the Year previously. Its not the same machine as a Yamaha YFZ450, but its a better all-around machine. I imagine the top speed is in the upper 70's. It will out run a stock Raptor. It will easily out handle most machines out there. Do a search, there is tons of talk on it in here..

speed/acceleration of pred = raptor's ..........there has been a lot of discussion over this, just trying to help this guy out by keeping the fighters out........
The pred's handling is top notch and so is the power.......a great quad........but search......

I agree with everything he said.........the wheeling isn't bad anymore though, on the 03 models it was a little though, but now it isn't bad.......probably still nothing like a 400ex or something, but not too bad.....

Well after riding my friend's 03 predator alot it seems to handling well in almost every kind of terran...
The suspension is more then ok... better then a stock Rappy for sure ( just sayin this because a rappy is a known quad and you probably rode it before).
Planty of power (one angry 500cc motor they got)! In the first 3 gears wheelie is very easy...
I'd say the 05 models (with reverse) are probably the best trail machine you can get...
Never took the risk for climbing hills (still, it's my friend's quad)...
Stock speed around 75... You can easily find aftermarket parts for almost every quad in the world...
Reliability is OK ...
Great quad i was thinking of getting it but my dealer said it will arive only in 2 months (05 models)...
Now got the 05 Viper red DS-650 check it out in My Page...

1. How is their handling?
they handle good, the seat feels kinda akward at first, but i never really sit down except for long boring trails
2. How is their suspension?
its nicr
3. How is their power?
loads of power, one thing is it doesnt lug down as much as a 400ex, so downshift if it sounds like its sputtering
4. Do they wheelie easily?
yea, my friend has pulled wheelies on the road goin about 45-55 just by pulling back and pinning it
5. Are they good in the trails?
yea
6. Can they climb fairly steep hills?
yep, just stick it in 2nd and hold on
7. What is their STOCK top speed?
75 at the max
8. Can you easily find aftermarket parts for them (filters, pipes, nerf bars, bumpers, etc., etc.,)?
i think so
9. Do they at all compare to a 400EX and/or a Raptor?
its got alot more power stock for stock then a 400ex, seems to have better accel then a raptor also
10. How is their reliability.
good, the 04s had some front brake issues but those are fixed now
