Default rear light on a Scrambler

This may sound like a stupid question but anyone who has a scrambler should be able top say right off the bat.
Should the tail light work when i have the headlights on? Mine is only about 2 months old and riding today I found my taillight only works with the brake. I really thought it had been working any time I put the lights on. I figure if that is the case I will check the bulb but either way I am going back to the dealer to find out why it stopped working.

just change the bulb. i have had that happen many times before. the element in the bulb that lights up with the headlights is just broken .

That is what I was hoping, jsut my sportsman has the original bulb (4 years old) in it and I thought it odd that the scramblers blew after only a few months.
I just need to do step #7 and get a screw driver and new bulb then
Thanks for all your input on this ( as I said Stupid question).
