Default 04.5 700 loosing top end

I recently bought a new 04.5 Sportsman 700 carb. It only has around 150 miles on it now (0 when I bought it) and I used to be able to run about 65-70 top speed. Today it would only pull 45-50 and layover. It was running great, rpm never dropped, but it was like I was pulling a trailer or something, just didn't want to go even though it got there fine.
It was around 35-40 deg F so I was wondering if jetting would be an issue? I have heard and read on this site about a carb update for the 04's. Never had an atv with a belt, so maybe that is the issue? Although it was fine on the low end and pulled to 45 as normal.

Also and unrelated, I plan to plow with this, but I think it needs a reverse light. Is there a kit or has anyone hooked a light up that would come on when shifting into reverse?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. And great site by the way!!!

Can you smell anything? It sounds like your belt is slipping. You may want to take it to the dealer and have them pull the housing and see if the belt is shredding and also adjust the clutch.

Since they have lifetime warranty on the belt, you can get that for free, the labor is another story....
