well i cant get this thing to run right.... so i decided to take the tank off so i could look at the piston from the top and the plug is black adn a lil wet but wen i took the tank off adn looked down into it the piston had a bright silver middle but wasnt melted cuz u could still see the numbers on the top of the piston and everything around that one lil circle is black?!?!?!? weird... and it still bogs wen u take off its bein real weird no matter how much i richen it it still does this and i started real lean to the point where the spark plug didnt even have anything on it!?!!! adn now it got it black and wet and still runs bad??... do you guys think it could be the cluthces binding or something???
o ya by the way i ddi the compression and its 125 and wen i did the fresh rebeild it was only 128 soooo thats a ok

is this a stock carb? what jetting are you running?main,needle clip setting? what mods are done? these are things that are needed to know in order to help. i does sound like its running rich. let us know.

alright heres everyhting engine wise: pipe, porting, milled head, filter charger, stock carb, bore, wiseco piston kit, and i think thats it
teh jettin is 180 main, 37.5 pilot, 1.5 out on the air screw, 1 clip position down, and thats at wat it is now but like i said the top of the pison has a circle thats burnt clean adn all around it is black

you need to call rick ritter of rcr racing he knows exactly what you need. call him now at his office (618)644-3211 his name is rick and he will talk live with you. tell him these mods and what he thinks your jettin should be. he does nothing but polaris race bikes, hes the only one i call now for help i did mods to my scramy and he told me the perfect set up for the carb. runs like a raped ape. program his #in your phone and never loose it. hes a great guy to work with, very professional.

then what i would do is get some extra plugs, put one in thats brand new,change the needle clip down one more, withthe same main jet, once back together, fire it up, throttle it up hi and shut of ignition. pull the plug and see if its gettin lighter in color, you should notice it sputter less, if so, you can also change the main jet one lower or one higher, do the same test, you eventually will find the sweet spot. you dont want to lean it out to much or you will fry your piston, i know cause i did it!!!! let me know.

whats up tbsleeper?? where have you been? this is just kind of a guess but do you think you could have
bent the float in the carb you know the arm that shuts the fuel off? you have tried so much with the jetting with no results "I remember when you started to tune the carb like back in august maybe" that i think maybe its something in the carb itself you may also check the header on the pipe to make sure its sealed good maybe its a vacume issue..
