Default Oil capacity of 400EX, 450R, and YFZ450

We had topic on reliability of these three quads. My 400EX will take 2.0 quarts without overfilling. The owners manual lists only 1.8 qt after drain and 2.3 qt after disassembly. I was wondering what are volumes of seperate motor oil and tranny oil in 450R and combined oil in YFZ450.
Even though the 400EX is not water cooled, it has a very large oil cooler, a large volume of oil, plus a dry sump with seperate oil tank. Honda says the seperate oil systems on the 450R avoids contamination of motor oil with clutch debris and avoids problem of oil breakdown due to tranny gears.
I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts on volumes of oil in these three quads and the resulting reliability comparison.

my 450R holds less than a quart of oil in the motor. the tranny takes about 4/5ths of the honda red bottle tranny oil.

I've seen a lot of things in my 35 years of life, but I have yet to see the amount of oil an engine can hold affect the longevity of it.

This thread just may take the cake.

The manual says the 450R holds 0.82 qts. in the engine, and 650 cc in the trans.

"<B>Separate oil:</B> The benefit of separating the oil, like Honda does, is that the top-end is not contaminated by clutch debris or broken teeth. Additionally, the heat of the combustion side does not thin out the transmission and clutch oil. The CRF can use an MA-series oil in the transmission and slippery MB-series oil in the top-end.
The downside is that the oil quantity in each chamber is reduced (to approximately 650cc), increasing the need for more frequent oil changes. Any oil loss, no matter how small, becomes critical when you have a small pool to draw from." http://www.thumperfaq.com/oil.htm
