wheel spacers for Yamaha Raptor 80?
#1
We just purchased a Yamaha Raptor 80 for our six year old son. Would it be a good idea to put wheel spacers on the quad? Does it make it a bit safer? If so, any recommendations on what and where to get them?

VelociRaptor350 is right about a wider track being more stable. However, it is not a good idea to put wheel spacers or reverse offset wheels on a quad. Spacing the wheels out on a stock suspension puts more stresses on the axle, bearings and front suspension members. In addition it changes the front end steering geometry thereby adversely affecting the handling. It is not a good idea to use spacers to widen the front track width. Hope this helps.

Spacers should be fine for racing, but I'd be weary of mx. You want a spacer with integrated studs, not stud extenders. They are much more stable and strong but also typically a little more money.

That little predator 90 of Doug Nicholas's(on the website) is pretty wide......I wouldn't think you would tip it over very easy..........I can't tell for sure what they did to it........it might just have offset rims like that......
