Default Rookie has a question about the pred.....

Whats up Everyone, This is my my 1st post . All my friends have been going to the desert for quite a while now with there toys. I never went with because I didnt feel like piggy backing on a quad. So I finally broke down and bought one. I told the sales guy that I was a complete rookie and he ended up talking me into a predator500 troy lee 05 I went to ride it today and I could honestly say it was the best time Ive ever had. My questions are... Is this to much quad for a rookie? Should have I bought something smaller? Also from the post Ive read I saw that there has been tranny problems with the pred and its heavy. Can anyone let me know if this is a good reliable quad? Did i make a mistake?Any info you can give me about it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Welcome to the fourms.....Some of the 03 had tranny problems. The Pred is a great quad, I don't know about a rookie quad. I know the 05 has already hurt few people on here. Take it easy on it...until you get use to it.

Thanks for the info RAJ. I agree about it not being a rookie bike. The thing is really powerful. Hopefully the 05 wont have any tranny problems. Thanks again.

Look at it this way, you have 1 year warrenty, if it goes hope it goes before then. My buddy has a 03 and the other has an 04 no problems with either one.

isnt factory warranty only six months? doesnt really matter to me anyways since my dealer included the 4 year warranty for free for me, well they actually swallowed the tab on it but either way free for me.
