I think I might have water in my gas. Has anyone drain their 700 gas tank? What does everyone use to get the water out (heet) or is there something better?

 

I think heet is more for preventing water from building up in your tank than for removing water from say a swim in a pond or lake or whatever.
Also keeps fuel lines from freezing.

 

If you got alot of water in there removing the tank draining it and letting it dry upside down is the best way. Using a siphon or some type of pump may work but there is alot of that tank you cant see to make sure you got it all.

 

If you have a little water in your gas just put a few oz. of Alky in the tank.............end of problem.

 

Its only a few gallons of gas so get rid of all the gas. But I know with JP5 the gas floats on top of the water. Im sure its the same with 92. So you could drain the water out of the petcock. But I would still get rid of all the fuel.

 

Use isioprophal (sp?) additives (heet etc.) but if you have a lot remove the fuel line to the petcock (reserve line), this will drain MOST of it.
You should be using it for winter use anyways in cold climates.
