Default Scrambler 500 vs. Outlander 400

I am looking at buying a Scrambler 500 4x4 and I was wondering how fast it is compared to an Outlander 400 4x4. I know the Outlander is pretty quick so I just want some kind of coparison. thats alot.

The scrambler 500 will beat the Outlander easily.

Yup. The Scrambler tops out at around 65mph, and gets there pretty quick for a 500+ lb 4x4 machine.

And Welcome to the forums

I had a issue of a magizine, i dont remember what the mag was but they had a shoot out with a 03 scram and a 03 outlander and they rated both quads equally in there certain designed areas so at the end the shoot out they basically stated that it all depends on what your intrestes lie in and what kind of riding you'll be doin

They are definately for different purposes. The Outlander would compete with the Sportsman not the Scrambler. The magazine tests said is was neck and neck with the SP500. Not bad for a 400!

BigBeezy,

I don't see many '98 Scrambler 500s. How's it running? I heard there were only 800 made in '98.

I have a bone stock 98 sportsman and brother-in-law has an Outlander. We have lined the up a few time and I pull him by 1 or 2 mph every time.

Is your brother riding the 98 in your sig? Is the 98 an HO? I'm not sure when the HOs where introduced, but it could make a difference.
