I am looking to buy either a suzuki eiger 400, a kawasaki prarie 360, a honda rancher 400, or a yamaha big bear. which atv's in the 350 to 400cc range will perform the best. (speed, handling and etc.)

You should try the Outlander 400 from BRP. Its auto tranny, 2x4/4x4 selector, independant front and rear suspension, Viscoloc front diff., etc... The Outlander is my personal choice for the 400cc class. Just try it!

Of those you listed, the Eiger will perform the best. And as Frog suggests, check out the Outlander, it will outperform the Eiger.

the rancher may not be able to "outperform" the others you listed but it will sure outlast all of them and give you no problems. ask anyone who owns or has owned a rancher.

I'd go with the 360. Its got the same features as the 700. The only thing that isn't very good is the performance. Its low in that area. Definately needs exhaust and rejetting. Other than that, its a very good machine. Low maintenance and no problems with them.

Have you looked at a kodiak 400? or even a 450. both have tons of power and moderatly priced.

Eigers are fun, powerful for their size, and have good handleing if you don't push it really hard...i can go anywhere my buddy on a praire 650 with 26in dirt devils could...also check out the Outlander...that was my choice but it cost more so i went with the Eiger

Of the ones you listed the Eiger is easily the best performer......but the Outlander 400 will outperform all in the 400 utility class relative to speed, handling etc.... The Outlander has IRS and none of the others do. The Polaris Sportsman 400 has IRS and compares pretty well to the Outlander.......but the Outlander will out perform it too because it's lighter/nimbler.

Good Luck, Bob
