Holeshot ATR Tires in the Snow
#1
OK, I live in So. Calif. so I can't claim to ride snow every day, but we do get a fair amount of snow in our local mountains. Finally we are seeing the end of several years of drought, and I went to the mountains yesterday to play around on the Rancher 4X4. I was EXTREMELY impressed with both the ATR tires, and the Rancher. Nothing could stop it, except 3' high snow drifts. Even going uphill on solid ice was no problem.
Just a note for you snow busters. On the Rancher I have a (slick) Maier skid plate. The skid really seems to help in the snow, because it makes the front act like a big ski. It slides across stuff that would normally bog you down as the frame digs into the snow.
