Default Oil Change On Raptor

I apologize in advance for such a silly question. But... When I bought my 03 rappy all I got was the bike. No manual, etc. Where do I drain the oil from? I've searched and found the proper procedure once it's drained to refill. I just want to make sure to drain it properly. Thanks in advance.

Default Oil Change On Raptor

remove the plug on the bottom of the oil tank and drain the tank
remove the large plug on the left/bottom/rear of the motor(behind/under the shifter) and drain the crankcase

change the filter

In adding to Bings good info, don't overtorque the oil tank reservior because it cracks easily. Don't try to add the total 2.5 quarts at one time either....you will wind up getting oil everywhere.

Also, just my .02 worth. I quit using the oil plug on the tank because of that same problem. I undo the line next to the case plug and drain it all from the same location. That way you dont have the mess all over the frame and hard to get oil drain plug on the tank.

My thoughts exactly. No worries of ever cracking the tank when changing oil. An o ring sels the piece to the case anyway.

Default Oil Change On Raptor

Hey I learn something new everytime I come on here.

The whole time I have owned my 01 Raptor this past week-end I found another grease zirk on the swing-arm pivot arm. I knew of the upper and lower, then I saw the one located right behind the engine that looks like a bolt but has a grease fitting on the end of it.
