If you go with a big bore 300ex you can hang with a 400ex. If you bore and stoke to a 352, you can school a stock 400ex. The stroker is bank, though. $500 or so for the big bore and about $1500 for the stroker. You may be better starting with the 400.

Honda's are very reliable, IMO. There is 5 quads in my garage 4 are Hondas.

Ohhhhh you will, its a stroke and it'll crap out on you eventually.

the 300ex will not keep up with a 400ex. but the engine is ultra reliable "bulletproof" some might say.

Have you cheked out the Kawasaki Mojave. It has similar power to the 300EX, and its advantages are better center of gravity, better handling, more low end torque,4 valve dual cam engine, and LIQUID COOLED. the only down fall is kickstart. But if your a Honda guy, you will be happy with the EX. and the boring and stroking it will make it less reliable, like anything.

Whaatt !! better handling ! the 300ex is in my opinion the Atv with the best handling ever. A mojave handles like a warrior and is slower than the 300ex

if u go with the 300ex in a year your gonna want the 400ex few months later a 450r
u might be happy now with a 300ex and later on if u decide to do motor work u will loose some of that honda reliablity
i cant see a built 300ex hang on a drag stirp with a 400ex anyways, maybe the trails...
