Accessories, snow plow for Honda Foreman
#1
Can someone tell me which brand of snow plow is better? I am told manual lift is plenty good and there is no need for a winch or electric lift. Your thoughts? Where can I go to look on the internet for several of the companies that carry accessories? My Honda dealer wants to charge me about $450 for the mounting kit and blade. Should I get a 48" or 54" inch blade? Help me if you have expertise in this area and please let me know where I can go on the net to order the plow and other accessories.

I have a 60" MOOSE County Plow on my 450es and use my winch to lift it. This plow is very well built and heavier then the others so it will stay down better in the snow. The county plow is also a wing plow design, but can plow off either side if you wish (can be angled either way). The low side of the blade is the same height as the standard plows, but the high side is 26" and has the rubber flap on top of that. This plow is also suppose to have a different curve to it then the standard blade so as to roll the snow off better. So far I have only pushed gravel with it and it works well for that too. There are some pics of the mounted plow at my website on the Acc. Review page.

I have a 50" Moose plow that I used on my 450ES, and am going to use it on my Rubicon now. I chose Moose for the same reasons...it's built sturdy! It's heavy and doesn't "ride up" in wet snow. I'd highly recommend the moose over Cycle Country or Warn. They have both had trouble with blades buckling when striking a hard object. They may gotten those problems fixed now, but a little too late for me. I really like my Moose. Dennis Kirk sells Moose, as well as any dealer or shop that carries the Parts Unlimited line. Just type "Moose plow blades" into any decent search engine, and it should pull up a few sites for you.
