With your setup right now you should be able to beat a stock warrior. Stock for stock they are almost the same, If your loosing to a stock warrior a 400ex will smoke you, sorry. I was loosing to 400ex's with my stock rappy 350, and the rappy is faster then the warrior. Reeds really opened up my friends banshee, so i would suggest them for your bike. Look around online, and ask tom from sweetquads what he can do for you, they guy is great to deal with.

In the trail you should be able to keep up. Speed means very little in trails, it's all about the rider.

I agree, i keep up with my friends banshee on trails and in a makeshift MX course we ride at. His banshee is worked (.30 over, reeds and spacers, boost bottle, Fmf fatttys, uni filter, etc.) and he has problems getting away from me. In a straight line you should be able to rip that warrior if it only has a pipe, maybe you need to practice riding a little more.

This might help I will let you know this Monday if this works. I have a 2000 Blaster and a 2003 Blaster. The 2003 is built a lot more than the 2000 but the 2000 will smoke the 2003. What I think Yamaha has done was detune the CDI on the 2003 it is a lot different than the 2000. I'm going to change the CDI and wiring to see if this works. If it does it will be a easy chang over.

The CDI is the same. I have a 04 on mine, and it's a 00'. Nothing is any different.

Im runing Boyesen Power reeds a reed spacer and I used a Magnum jet kit easy to put in, changing the needle is the hardest. ( The hole in the slide is left open do not cover it with the peace that holds the needle in.) If you are using the air lid put six UNI pop in vents in the lid and leave the boot off the lid. Start with the 280 main needle clip in the middle and the other pilot jet that is in the kit. That should be close. You can slot your stator plate by using a 1/4 in drill bit and putting a hole to the left of the stock hole so the to holes touch ( OO) then remove the burr between then. Then move the stator half way between the two holes. That will wake it up some more.
