Raptor head removal question

Default Raptor head removal question

Can I remove the head on my Raptor without yanking the engine out of the frame.???

The manual doesn't say,....it looks like I can, but I'm asking the experts here in the forum....

Yeap.. make sure you pull them two bolts underneath the tappet cover (near the intake side). It will look like you have all the bolts off, but those two are hidden.

The raptor has a lot of room to work on just about anything without removing the engine. Thats one of the things I really like about it.

Yeah but what about removing that last bolt on the clutch cover? It seemed the only way (and the shop manual doesn't say how) was to remove the engine.

it will come out without moving the engine

loosen the bolt,,,,and it will come off while still in the cover

its tight however

it must be installed in the cover before you put the cover back in place

Yes I have found that out the hard way. Also the bolts are different length too so you might want to keep that one aside and all the others marked down.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]

im taking apart my clutch otnight, and i ve never head a problem with that bolt...ever. use a swivel head, if needed, but i just use a different length socket. use a 1/4 socket
