My friend has the trx 125 and he's having a hard time finding a new front sprocket...he got the back sprocket but no one has the front...he's tried 2 different dealers and waited for weeks with both and nothing, we have searched dennis kirk and the sprocket specialists and they don't have one either, they probably don't make one anymore for it....can you guys tell me where he could get one??

I got one for a neighbor's TRX125 a few months ago from my Honda dealer. It was a 1987 model, though, & I know that there were major differences between 86 & 87. My suggestion is to find a good Honda mechanic or parts man & show him your worn out front sprocket. Maybe he can match it up with one from a dirt bike or come real close. Sometimes, the only difference in 2 sprockets will be the way that they are held on the shaft. Some use a bolt thru the center of the shaft, some use a snapring & some use a retainer that bolts on the sprocket in two places. If you can find a sprocket that will fit on the shaft & has the right number of teeth, any decent machinist should be able to figure out a way to keep it on the shaft. Actually, if you keep the chain properly tensioned, the front sprocket probably wouldn't need a retainer on a lot of bikes. Other than that, you may have to check ATV salvage yards & try to find a good used one. Good Luck!
