I was at my hunting club yesterday and noticed that the "hot" light was coming on. It would happen after about a 5-10 min ride. I could let it sit there with the fan running and it would cool off and after about 5or 10 min would happen again.
I checked that water after I got home and it was full and the over flow bottle was also full.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what could cause this

Make sure each time you wash it after a ride that you take a couple minutes and wash out the radiator fins. Mine was overheating one day, and after inspection, I noticed the radiator was a solid wall of mud. Sprayed it out, problem solved.

I think that maybe that was the problem. After posting the question I went out and took the radiator screen off and hosed the radiator finns. They were very dirty and I cleaned until no more muddy water was coming off of them. I haven't had time to ride around and check it out but I hope that fixed it.
thanks for the help

Quadfather is right on about cleaning the raditor. Even if the outerscreen looks clean, hold a low pressure hose up to the radiator and I bet you will get mud out. I have a bucket in the truck when we are out riding. At the end of the day, I fill it up and dump it on the radiator. I have never had a problem since with overheating.
