Well UPS just delivered my new V Force rad valve and I cant wait till next weekend to put it on.
But here is the question...
What tention do you run on your reeds{loose, middle, tight} and how does it effect the powerband. I know that the loose reeds= low end and tight reeds= top end, but I just want to hear about your experiances.

Andy, I can't answer your question but let us know how these work out for you. Do you have any other mods?

Expect a full report on Sunday..lol
My motor is bone stock right now but this weekend Im adding the V Force and a UNI filter. I really dont know what to expect but I think it should wake it up a bit.

I also plan on doing a clutch kit in the near future...if I can ever decide which one to get..lol

I doubt you'll gain much power but I'm hoping to hear that your throttle responce is much improved. I've been contemplating doing the same thing.

I'vew run mine at the low tension setting since day one, and noticed better throttle responce. I also had a pipe, K&N Air Filter and a clutch kit installed. I put in a spacer plate at the same time as the reeds and it was A LOT sharper on the throttle. I 'm not sure how much of an improvement you'll see with the stock pipe, though. Keep us posted !!! Go with the HPD Clutch kit.

Andy G,
Im waiting to hear from you to ,that is after you install the reed valves.Im wanting to install a set in my 00 Xplorer 400,but I'll wait to hear from you first on how they worked out.I ordered a new primary spring today from Rick Ritter,I ordered both the white and green,I'll see which one I like most and stick with it.

Andy, how much did the reeds cost?
Thanks,

I got the Rad valve from Rick Ritter at RCR. It cost $150 which is a lot but Ricks prices were as good as anybodys. He also took the time to throughly answer all of my dumb questions.

Like I said before i am going to put it in either Sat night or Sunday morning and go for a good long ride Sunday afternoon. I will post the results and my impresions on Sunday night.

Let as know how the springs work out. A clutch kit will be my next mod.

Andy,
I'll let you know what I think with the springs.I have to e-mail Rick R. with some questions concerning them.I discussed the reed valves with Rick, and he really did'nt seem to be real impressed with them for the 150 dollars. He said I would gain 2 horsepower. He is a great guy and spends alot of time with his customers.I told him I desired more low end jump.He did'nt try and sell the entire clutch kit,in fact,he shyed me away from a whole kit.===Bill
