Default sp 800 rev limiter?

Does the sp 800 rev out like the '04 700's in low range at like 22 mph? If so, is there a way to disconnect the rev limiter on them? My cat 650 will do 59 mph in low range. There is no reason the polaris can't do the same!

well the 800's red line is at 6,500 RPM, so if your hitting that in low at 22 MPH then, any more and you'll probebly blow the engine. remember that the 800 motor is only a pushrod, its not high performance.

they recommend running it in low range if you are doing anything under 30 mph. Going fast in low range doens't burn belts, going slow and pushing it hard in high range it what burns belts. My wheeler will do 66 mph in high range, with the earlandson performance springs, and ignition module. Plenty of snappy power. Just not enough dependability. I road the 800 today, wasn't overly impressed, but the efi is what i am after. It also rides nicer, and turns much sharper.

Oh man, are you sure about that? I thought it was a SOHC 4-valver. That sucks. That's probably why it has the hydraulic valve lash adjusters.
Thanks man.

Removing the rev limiter is NOT going to help you. The gear ratio is low range is 7.49:1. No other quad on the market that I have seen or riden has that low of a low range. This is why it can turn the bad boy tires so well.

its a 4 valve pushrod. dont be turned off by it being that, it is a very good motor, and for what it is i would consider it a high performance pushrod. Polaris is suposed to revamp the engine in a year or two and make it an 8 valve SOHC.
