I always wear a helmet. When I was a youngster, me and a friend were ridding dirt bikes. My friend was doing a jump and lost it. Landed on the ground, then the bike came down. The foot peg hit him right on the top left side of the helmet. Punched a hole in the helmet and part way thru the foam, proceeding to rip about 6 inches across the helmet.

So, yes, a helmet can save your life. If my friend hadn't been wearing one, I am sure he would have been killed.

No, I am not one for helmet laws of any kind. I feel it should be your choice. Just make the right choice.

This is exactly what Anti-ATV people love to see.

You should be wearing your helmet, unless you would like to see more legislation from the Consumer Product Safety Commission for the ATV industry.

Here are some statistics on death and ATV use since 1982
http://www.cpsc.gov/library/foia/foi...m/atvrept1.pdf

Here is the question that people are worrired about, will the CPSC enact another Consent Decree and ban ATV production.
http://www.consumeralert.org/pubs/monitor/Atv.htm

They will if you and your friends continue to ride without helmets, help to promote safety for yourself and others.

There is a nice one there with four people, including two very young kids, on one ATV with none of them wearing helmets. Other than the lack of helmets its some good pictures.

i am very sorry if my pictures have upset some people. you are right it is the riders choice if they want to wear a helment or not. by choice i choose not to wear a helment when i am going out to crawl around in first or second gear in the mud. when i am going to a place where the riding is rough and high speed i will wear my helment. but when it is over a 100 degrees outside and i am in the mud at 2 miles an hour i choose not to.
i can not speek for the other people in these pictures except that it is a bunch of people out enjoying themselves. the main purpose of my quad is to play in the mud and to take me back and forth to my deer stand not to see how high it can jump or see how far i can walk a wheelie i will leave that to the younger people. i think that the people like the ones in the pictures make 4wheeling what it is. a family sport that can be enjoyed by all. a person does not have to ride fast and do tricks and endanger their life to have fun on a four wheeler. if i decide to do these things you can bet i will have on a helment. again i am sorry if i have upset some people with these pictures. ride safe and have fun rl4wheeler.
