i want my 250ex to beat a 300ex in a drag race, is it possible, if so what do i need to do it?

 

sure its possible... those bikes are practically the same. I saw a 250ex eat 400exs in a drag... this litle thing was a beast !
id recommend to start with the flow kit -> air filter & box, jetting, exhaust
Something great to do on the 250 and 300ex is the head job since they have really small valves (it would be less efficient on the 400ex for example)
With this, the flow will be greatly increased and you'll rev much quicker throught the power band... bye bye 300ex.
But just with the flow kit you should be able to beat stock 300s

 

i dont think they make air filter boxes for the 250ex, but i might be wrong. if they do tell me were they are..

 

You should have saved your pennies.
The 300EX was only $150.00 more new in the showroom!

i looked and they were about a thousand dollar difference.

 

Maybe there isnt any box available but replacing the lid will do the same.. Or cheaper, drilling holes. hehe
Personnaly I prefer the 250ex.. fenders are less "banana" style than the 300ex

And Im asking me something... why did you bought a 04 250ex ? A 96 300ex paid the same price would beat stock 400s

 

i love my 250ex.. but the only thing i dont like about it is it looks to bulky in the back ..i saw summ guys quad and he had cut his front and rear fenders and had holeshots and tht cleaned it up alot better..

well im looking to put about 500 dollars into my 250ex, the reson i didnt get a 300ex is because i got it this christmas and my parents wanted something new and couldnt afford another 1000$ for the 300, but im definatly happy with what i have!

how hard is it to install a jet kit? will i need a new jet kit with the white brothers e series slip on pipe?
