Went up to Nemadji State Forest this past weekend for some riding. Wheeler ran fine going out to the cabin. Next morning, went to go riding and after about 20 minutes of riding it bogged down and died! I started it again, and it would slowly move only while holding the override button. I went with that for about another 35 minutes, then it took off like normal. It is rather slow though. I got beat BAD by my dad's '94 400L 4x4! I usually have the fastest quad. What could be wrong????
BTW, I just got new reed valves and a brand new spark plug. When I took th plug out it was dry and brown.
Only other thig is we used 91 octane gas; that is all they had for premium. We put the 91 octane i all the wheelers though, and the others ran fine.
I'm lost......
sorry for the long post:-)

JWOOL, Where were you riding out of last weekend? We put on 55 miles up there on Saturday, we rode out of the Nickerson bar. As to your problem a couple of ideas come to mind. 1; You might have a dirty or gumed up carb 2;The fuel shutoff valve on older Polaris models is somtimes prone to self destruction, causing insuficient fuel flow. 3; A faulty gear selector or throttle overide switch. This can cause your machine to act up as your's did. We had a 97 425 Magnum act up much as yours did this weekend. What we ended up doing was fiddling with the fuel valve it was in the on posistion but barly flowing, this was rectified by fiddling with the valve fuel supply was restored. It still didn't run right. So we disconnected the black wire on the safety switch box in the wiring harnness, this eliminates all safety switchs! Problem solved it ran like a champ! sorry for long post.

Thanks MNXPLORER.
My Dad and I have a cabin about 7 miles from Duxbury. It is about 30 minutes NE of Hinkley on those back roads. We have to ride 4 wheelers back to the cabin from the road, because the trail is really muddy and bumpy. I love it, it is a real outdoorsman type of cabin and great for wheelin'.
